Vial adapter
A solution for single-use transfer of drugs in vials
The Vial Adapter is a single-use, sterile medical device intended for the transfer of drugs contained in vials. Puncturing the elastomeric closure of a vial is achieved by means of an integral plastic spike located in the center of the vial adapter. The device plastic package and cover are designed to limit direct contact, reduce potential for contamination, and to assist in attaching the device to the drug vial.
Benefits of the Vial Adaptor:
- Reduced risk of needle-related injuries
- Fewer sharp objects and parts needed
- Options for silicone-coated needles to reduce injection force and in-line liquid filters to reduce particle transfer
Vented vial adapter
One piercing spike with two lumens:
- One for transfer of drug/solution between the drug vial and a syringe
- Second for enabling pressure equilibrium of the vial by introducing air that has passed through a 0.2 micron hydrophobic air filter into the vial.
Swabable Vial Adapter
- Consists of the vial adapter body with a single lumen piercing spike and a swabable valve which allows multiple needle-free accesses to drug vial to facilitate withdrawal of medication for treatment.
- The device plastic package and cover are designed to maintain sterility and to assist in attaching the device to the drug vial.
Mix2Vial Transfer Device
The solution for needle-free vial-to-vial transfer
The Mix2Vial Transfer Device is a single-use, sterile device consisting of two vial adapters connected together through Luer ports. After reconstitution, the drug may be prepared for administration by disconnecting the diluent vial and connecting a syringe to the female Luer.
Vial stopper
A stoppered vial is a universal parenteral drug container closure system. The system however should not be considered integral until the rubber stopper is crimped firmly in place with sufficient compression against the vial finish assuring all potential leakage is cut off at the seal interface.
Vial stoppers are available in a wide variety of types and specialties in the market. Please contact the company’s sales department for more information.
